- I'm super passionate about being able to impact the lives of others. It's something that's just fueled and drived me my entire life. I've always been drawn to healthcare and the needs that we have there, especially the understanding that health disparities are still disproportionately burdening Black Americans. Initially, coming into Ohio State, I was thinking very narrow-minded. I learned that there were many more opportunities for me to pursue, that there were so many ways I can apply my nursing expertise, so many ways that I could affect and impact the community. Community engagement, to me, is actively involving the community members in these solutions that we wanna deliver, hearing their concerns and feedback on how it can best support them, and intentionally incorporating that to meet their needs, because the community is who we are intending to serve, and so involving them as much as we can in that process is truly necessary and beneficial and will lead to the best outcomes. What drives me is knowing that I've made a lasting impact in someone's life, even if it's just one person, if I can help change, and motivate, and inspire them to do better, that's enough to keep me going.
